Computer Network Systems Administration Faculty
Michigan Technological University’s School of Technology invites applications for one faculty position in the Computer Network Systems Administration (CNSA) program starting August 2007.
Responsibilities
The successful tenure-track candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate/graduate classes and laboratories, create innovative instructional materials and laboratory experiences including web-based instruction, establish a record of sustained scholarship, develop sources of external funding for applied research and projects with industry, promote the CNSA program through local, regional and national engagement, participate in program assessment activity related to accreditation, and perform student advising and other departmental service, including internal and University committee work.
Qualifications
Applicants must have: (1) an earned doctorate in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely-related field; (2) evidence of strong oral and written communication, computer and presentation skills; (3) a commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching and student success. Preference will be given to those also having one or more of the following: professional registration, teaching experience, relevant technical certifications or extensive relevant industrial experience. The successful applicant will demonstrate appropriate technical expertise to teach courses such as Unix/Linux/ administration, storage area networking, scripting/programming, network engineering, LDAP integration, and network security design and implementation.
Salary
Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
