·         Define, discuss, and apply important JFET parameters.

·         Discuss and analyze JFET bias circuits.

·         Explain the operation of MOSFETs.

·         Define, discuss, and apply important MOSFET parameters.

·         Discuss and analyze MOSFET bias circuits.

·         Troubleshoot FET circuits.

Reading:

·         Review Chapters 4, 5, & 6.

·         Read Chapter 7.

 

 

Assignment:

·         Chapter 6 Homework:  Problems 1, 3, 11, 12, 19, 23, 25, 27, 31, 32d, 33e, & 37.

·         Chapter 6 Extra Credit:  Multiple Choice & True/False questions for Chapter 6 from the companion website.

·         Chapter 7 Homework:  Problems 1, 5, 9, 15, 17, 19, 23, 27, 31, 33, & 35.

·         Chapter 7 Extra Credit:  Multiple Choice & True/False questions for Chapter 7 from the companion website.

Show your work for all questions requiring calculations.

·         Lab 8:  Complete and submit per lab handout.

 

 

Evaluation:

·         Chapter 6 Homework and Extra Credit due 18 October.

·         Unit 2 Test – 18 October on Chapters 4, 5, and 6.

·         Lab 8 due 19 or 21 October.

·         Chapter 7 Homework and Extra Credit due 27 October.

 

 

Note:

·         Labs will be performed in teams of two or individually until further notice.

·         Demonstrate proper operation of the above experiments to your instructor.

·         We will be using solderless protoboards (aka breadboards) to build our circuits.
